A Signal Delivered Twice: Bairong's 2026 Interim Results and the Buyback That Followed

On the evening of August 31, Bairong AI Inc. (06608.HK) published its 2026 interim results. Revenue from its AICC business rose 52% year on year to RMB166 million, of which revenue from AICC for New Use Cases surged 195%. A benchmark logistics client has been deployed, with daily call handling volume now exceeding 15,000 calls. In the securities sector, the number of clients signed or in contract process has reached 13. This is a report card on capability delivered at a critical juncture of strategic transformation — and it confirms that the new AI business is accelerating toward its scale potential.

The day after the results announcement, Bairong moved again. On September 1, HKEX disclosures showed that the Company had repurchased 110,000 shares for HK$597,100. The most noteworthy business progress in the results announcement and the buyback action together form a complete loop of confidence signals — an action logic that deserves closer reading.

Day One After the Interim Results: The Window Reopens, the Signal Continues

The timing is worth noting. With the interim results disclosed on the evening of August 31 and a repurchase executed on September 1, management clearly has a firm grasp of the business progress behind the numbers, and has shown a willingness to resume the confidence signal at the first opportunity after the window reopened.

Three sets of data in the results announcement deserve attention:

AICC revenue up 52% year on year overall, with revenue from AICC for New Use Cases up 195%. This is the first time AICC has been disclosed as a standalone business since the Company changed its name from "Bairong Yunchuang" to "Bairong Intelligent", with AICC positioned as the core engine.

The benchmark logistics client went live in July. Daily call handling volume of the silicon workforce handling customer service climbed from fewer than 1,000 calls at initial launch to more than 15,000 calls per day, with the longest call lasting over 20 minutes. Getting the logistics scenario to work marks the first validation of the cross-industry transferability of the "silicon workforce" business model.

13 clients signed or in contract process in the securities sector. One leading securities firm has expanded its silicon workforce from about 30 seats at the beginning of the year to about 210 seats. The second stop on the cross-industry replication route is already scaling up.

These three sets of data form a clear narrative: the legacy business is contracting, but the new business is accelerating toward proof. After logistics comes securities; after securities, telecom operators and aviation — the pipeline is opening up.

Financial Performance

During the reporting period, the Company recorded revenue of RMB914 million and a net loss of RMB322 million, compared with a net profit of approximately RMB201 million in the same period last year. The main reasons are the revenue decline in certain mature businesses affected by industry policies, together with the Company's continued increase in AI research and development investment. Despite the current earnings pressure, the breakthrough in AICC's new business and its cross-scenario deployment are opening up new growth space for the Company.

What the Buyback Signals

There are many ways for management to convey confidence to the market, but the most direct and most verifiable is for the Company to buy its own shares with its own hard cash.

A repurchase on the day after the interim results carries a more complete signal than the repurchases that followed the profit warning. A buyback after a profit warning can be read as steadying market sentiment when bad news breaks. But to act after the interim results — once all the figures are public, all the new business progress has been disclosed, and the market has fully digested the information — the logic behind that action is this: management sees AICC's cross-industry deployment moving from a "validation phase" into a phase of scaled replication, and is expressing that judgement through action rather than words.

From the Profit Warning to the Interim Results, from a cluster of repurchases just before the window closed to an immediate follow-through once it reopened, Bairong has drawn a clear confidence curve with a series of consecutive buybacks. Behind that curve lies the industrial logic of AICC moving from "single-point validation" to "cross-industry replication".
